2 cups red wine
1/4 cup brandy or rum
3 cinnamon sticks
4 whole cloves
3 cardamom pods
4 whole star anise
Orange peel (garnish)

• Combine all the ingredients in a large saucepan.
• Bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for around 10 minutes.
• Strain out the spices and pour into mugs.
• Add an orange peel as a garnish.
