Edamame

The immature soybeans are known as edamame. They are a great high-protein snack because they are high in vitamins, minerals and have 17 g of protein per cup.

Overnight oatmeal

Overnight oatmeal is portable, healthy, and easy to make (mix a 1/2 cup of milk with 1/2 cup of oats, place in a covered jar, and refrigerate overnight). Oats are high in protein, minerals, and vitamins.

Trail Mix

A trail mix is a combination of nuts and dried fruit, and sometimes chocolate and grains. It provides 8 g of protein per 2 oz. It's high in calories, so it's important not to eat too much at a time.

Veggies and Hummus

Hummus is made from mashed and cooked chickpeas that are blended with tahini or olive oil. A 1/3-cup serving has 4 g of protein, making it a filling snack that is also high in vitamins and minerals.

Beef sticks

It's important to choose the right type. They should only have beef and salt in them, and should be made from grass-fed beef, as it's more healthy than grain-fed beef. Most beef sticks have 28 g of protein per oz.
